LOCAL JAPANESE COMPANIES SUPPORT DIA'S GRAND BARGAIN DESIGNED TO PROTECT ART FROM DETROIT'S BANKRUPTCY SETTLEMENT

More than 2 million dollars will be divided between the 'Grand Bargain' and the reinstallation of the Japan Gallery, allowing the DIA's collection of Japanese art to once again be on view, most of which has been in storage since the museum's renovations in 2007.The President of the Japan Business Society of Detroit, Mr. Sugi, said of the 40-year old organization that represents Japanese companies invested in Michigan:"One of its most important activities has been to contribute to the local community as a US corporate citizen."
